Why I changed my career (or educational objectives):
I loved acting, but after several years of pursuing a career as an actor in Los Angeles, I realized I wanted something more, something that involved helping people. So I went to…law school. A legal career wasn’t for me, but it took a few more years before I took the plunge and went back to school to do what I really wanted to do. I’ve always been interested in science, and I’ve had a lot of exposure to medicine through the numerous doctors in my family. This path definitely feels right.
USC is where I went to law school, and I knew it to be an academically rigorous institution with a friendly, cooperative student body. Plus, I’ve loved living in LA and had no desire to leave.
Favorite Class/Professor at USC:
Organic chemistry with Dr. Jung, who made it interesting, understandable, and – dare I say - fun.
Experiences with medicine
I've been volunteering at Venice Family Clinic, a fantastic free clinic on the Westside of Los Angeles. I work in the eye care clinic, and I get a lot of great patient contact. I’ve also been volunteering with a doctor at UCLA, assisting with her clinical research.
When I'm not studying or volunteering
I love going to movies, the theater, fun restaurants, and museums. I also love traveling, usually to experience the theater, restaurants, and museums of some other city. Last but not least, I'm a big fan of Disneyland.
