Science in Southern California

Southern California is a vibrant place for science and technology. With 7 major research universities in the region and numerous international conferences held here every year, Southern California attracts scientists from all over the world. Seven Nobel Prizes in Chemistry have been awarded to researchers in Southern California during the 1990's !

The region is also a center for high technology industries: aerospace, biotechnology, multimedia and software development.
