Over the more than 30 years that I have been at USC, I have taught, from time-to-time, Organic Chemistry (Chem 322), Advanced Organic Chemistry (Chem 426), Analytical Chemistry (Chem 300), and a graduate course Organic Photochemistry (Chem 621). I also teach a course in Category III (Scientific Principles) of the General Education Program The Molecular World (Chem 102g). For many years I have been the faculty advisor for chemistry majors and faculty mentor for the undergraduate Trojan Chemistry Club. For over 15 years, I have been the Associate Chair of the Department of Chemistry with responsibility focused on the department's undergraduate teaching program.

During the Fall Semester 1999, I will teach the two sections (9 AM and 11 AM, MWF) of Chemistry 322aL/325aL , Organic Chemistry. CHEM 322aL/325aL is the first semester of the standard year-long course taken by science majors and most pre-health students. In addition to the usual course materials, a complete set of lecture notes (a "course reader") is available in the University Bookstore for students who wish to spend more time listening and thinking during the lectures rather than writing. Since the lectures will be presented entirely with overhead transparencies, a complete set of notes during the lectures probably will be helpful to students.
