University Services

Premedical Advisement: Students who join the Postbaccalaurate Premedical Program may take advantage of most if not all opportunities and services available to undergraduate students, including the Dornsife College Office of Pre-Health Advisement, which employs four full-time professional premedical advisors available to discuss all aspects of premedical preparation. Drop ins and appointments are available year round.

Workshops/Symposia: The pre-health staff offers several workshops and presentations on various topics that are of interest to premedical students. Often such presentations give students a chance to interact with healthcare professionals and to learn more about the field of medicine.

Pre-health Listserv: PPP students sign up for the Pre-health Listserv in order to receive information via email about volunteer and research opportunities, upcoming workshops and other important events. The Listserv is extremely active and is perhaps one of the best tools for keeping students up to date.

Pre-health Application Services: During the application year, students establish a pre-health student file with the Dornsife College Office of Pre-Health Advisement.  The process mirrors the AMCAS procedures required for medical school applications. The pre-health advisement office also manages all students’ letters of recommendation (from professors, volunteer contacts, doctors, etc.) and sends them electronically to the appropriate medical schools upon students’ requests.  There is a nominal fee for this service.
