P P P Philosophy

The USC Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program offers its students an environment that fosters all of these aspects of premedical preparation.

Personal growth...
PPP students do more than complete premed coursework. They enter a community of individuals from diverse backgrounds, a community built on the various experiences of its members. They enter a well-rounded group focused on becoming effective clinicians, innovative scientists, caring, compassionate, more complete human beings. And they experience a more complete premedical preparation as they come to understand that there is more to what they are doing than the goal of "getting in" to a med school. They come to understand the academic, ethical and service-centered dedication that is essential for a career in medicine.

Power to help those in need...
PPP students don't simply prepare for the day when they will be able to help those in need, they make today that day. Our students volunteer in community clinics and state-of-the-art hospitals. They work closely with doctors in all fields. PPP students have traveled to Mexico, Ecuador, and Ghana among other locales administering healthcare to those who desperately need it. Students also reach out to their local communities, serving as tutors, teachers, leaders. They know that right now is the right time to help others - and they do it everyday.

Potential to shape the future...
PPP students are involved in scientific research, clinical studies, bioethics committees, programs in preventive medicine and other various types of experiences that are all part of cutting-edge healthcare. Our students understand that healthcare is on the move, going places that will shape our world, and our students are moving with it.
